A satirical spy thriller that fails to make the most of its opportunities, with Dirk Bogarde playing a reluctant spy behind the Iron Curtain, and sharing a steamy love scene with sultry Sylva Koscina, who gives the whole film a lift every time she appears. The most suspenseful moments come, so to speak, at the last knockings, with Bogarde beating at the door of his embassy at six in the morning, and the secret police closing in. But there's a lot of irrelevant and slow travelling around Prague ('The Russia House' suffered from the same documentary diarrhoea) before the chase hots up. Bogarde gives his usual polished performance, and Robert Morley is given some opportunity to demonstrate his mastery of irony. Overall, 'Hot Enough' is just about lukewarm.
