The title character is an assistant district attorney played by Susan Clark, an impressive actress whom you may particularly remember in the name part of the big TV movie Amelia Earhart. Laurel McNaughton is faced with the problem of trying to convict the famed Grace Coventry (played by Vera Miles), a beloved public figure who has devoted her life to feeding the starving of Africa, of murder.
