A film drama about guided missiles, and the men who build and test them. Glenn Ford plays a submarine commander anxious that his vessel should be the first to be armed with the new weapons. Ford never turned director; but down the cast list are two actors who did. Richard Quine went on to make movies such as Bell, Book and Candle, The World of Suzie Wong and Hotel; while Jerry Paris became famous as the director behind the success of The Dick Van Dyke Show.
