Multi-story film about the love affairs - and adventures - that start in the back seat of a Rolls-Royce Phantom II. The car's story starts when aristocrat Rex Harrison buys it for his wife Jeanne Moreau, but when he catches her in flagrante delicto on the back seat, he sells the car (wiser heads may have kept the car and ditched the wife). Anyway, the Rolls is then bought by a gangster (George C Scott) because his moll (Shirley MacLaine) thinks it's got class (not wrong there). Finally it becomes the property of widow Ingrid Bergman and does its bit for the war effort helping Yugoslavian resistance fighter Omar Sharif. As you can see, there's a star-strewn cast and the film is superficially entertaining, although it doesn't amount to much in the final reckoning. Still, it's a pleasant ride.
