Therapist Oliver Reed fights a losing battle trying to cope with disturbed patient Samantha Eggar, not least because her turbulent mental state somehow begets a brood of deadly midget creatures - 'the children of her rage' - who club people to death with baseball bats (yes, really). Easily cult director David Cronenberg's worst work, this is a horror film as slow and without entertainment value as it is ultimately vile and disgusting. Pretty much unwatchable, even for those with very strong stomachs.
