Goldie Hawn has a happy facility of choosing scripts that spotlight her particular brand of charm, feistiness and vulnerability, and once again she's virtually the whole show in this predictable but enjoyable tale of a teacher who becomes coach to a football team at an unspeakable Chicago ghetto school. Nothing unexpected happens, but there are a few good laughs and you'll be rooting for the school team at the climax. There are some interesting names down the cast, too, notably Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes (later co-stars in White Men Can't Jump and Money Train), L L Cool J, M Emmet Walsh and, for fans of old late-night movies, Ann Doran and Gloria Stuart.
