One oddball film from director Robert Aldrich, the man who made Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? and The Mean Machine. He goes down on the range and comes up with a typically weird Western. Rock Hudson and Kirk Douglas, who killed Hudson's brother-in-law, play a cat-and-mouse game on a cattle drive. But it's Joseph Cotten who picks up the cheese as an alcoholic rancher.
