The second of director William Friedkin's two C A T Squad telefilms, and the better of the two at that. This is an altogether tougher, stronger adventure of the Squad, a thoughtful action movie whose adroit direction by Friedkin commands attention and respect. The plot thunders along in Friedkin's usual steamroller thriller style, but doesn't altogether neglect characterisation, especially in the cases of Jack Youngblood and Deborah Van Valkenburgh, as a captured member of the Squad and the girl colleague in love with him. Both give strong, sympathetic performances. You'll find that the action rarely lets up in this one.
