Nice title, shame about the film. Sequels to comedy succeeded are always a problem, but this one gives itself unnecessary feet of lead by substituting the charmless Jason Bateman for the Michael J Fox of the original. Otherwise the elements are much as before, with special effects on the meagre side, emphasis shifted to college stereotypes and the 'wolf's' sport changed from basketball to boxing. John Astin overdoes it (as usual) as the dean, Kim Barby is wasted (again) as the wolf's biology teacher, and veteran Kathleen Freeman turns in a nice little job as an unrelenting admissions clerk. Even with all the film's familiarity, the final boxing match carries some excitement. Sure makes the original look good though: any future teen wolves had better learn some new tricks.
