Look out, here comes `The Front Page' again. One of the cinema's most-filmed plots switches its leading reporter role from male to female, and its setting from a newspaper to a TV newsroom. But no amount of switching can crank the hoary old vehicle into life, especially with a script that almost totally lacks wit and sparkle. Kathleen Turner, Burt Reynolds and Christopher Reeve play over-brightly; Ted Kotcheff's direction is faceless if occasionally frenzied. Perhaps after this and the disastrous Billy Wilder version of the previous decade, they'll now let 'The Front Page' rest in peace.
