The team of star Alain Delon and director Jacques Deray, responsible for so many tough thrillers (Borsalino, Three Men to Kill, Borsalino & Co) here try their hands at a comedy, with Delon as a reclusive cleric whose scarlet past catches up with him in spectacular and very complicated fashion. Delon's own real-life ex-wife Nathalie plays his devious wife in the film.
