Naive and flag-waving, this is an old-fashioned Hollywood-style 'war' film, with aerial action that edges out anything in Top Gun. The simplistic story of bomber pilots aiming to blow up an (unnamed) Arab nuclear base is given a novel tweak by mixing up a team of American and Russian pilots to do the job. Competent performances by Louis Gossett Jr (left over from the first film), Mark Humphrey and Ingrid Bergman-lookalike Sharon H Brandon are, under the circumstances, all this risibly written but thoroughly enjoyable international co-production requires.
