Brian De Palma dreams up an erotic nightmare in which claustrophobic struggling film star Craig Wasson is installed by a friend in a flat where he can spy on nympho Deborah Shelton. After getting involved with her, Wasson sees her murdered by a Native American, then he seeks the truth in the porn movie world. A violent and voyeuristic re-working of Hitchcock's Rear Window and Vertigo, this is everything you'd expect from a De Palma film and a bit more. Melanie Griffith, the daughter of one of Hitchcock's favourite blondes, Tippi Hedren, is cast as a porn star.
