Gory, samey and repetitive new sequel, cruelly dashing the hopes aroused by the previous entry's title of The Final Chapter.
Occasionally atmospheric and creepy, but the pace is very slow with insufficient plot and characterisation.
The premise of the little Corey Feldman who kills the Jason Voorhees in The Final Chapter growing up to be a teenage serial killer himself (John Shepard) is none too charismatic, and the only sequence of any power is the climax.
A tongue-in-cheek approach would have helped, since as it's played seriously it just seems tacky.
