A trite and flat remake of the Boris Karloff/Elsa Lanchester 'Bride of Frankenstein'. It's not helped by having two of the least animated actors - pop singer Sting as Dr Frankenstein and Jennifer Beals as his gauze-wrapped creation - in the leading roles. It's left for an electrifying scene in which a cat crosses Beals' path and the girl snarls back like a lion to suggest the sort of punch the rest of the film so badly lacks. At the end of the day, dwarf actor David Rappaport steals the film from the principals.
