Robert Duvall and Klaus Maria Brandauer may be great actors but their good-versus-evil clash here hardly raises even a fizzle, the two men reacting to each other like negative poles and never raising any dramatic tension. It's a ponderous, almost incident-less story of three fugitives boarding a 1955 lightship whose German-born captain is haunted by an incident in the war. Dumbest line: 'Why do I have to listen to all of this? ' (TM/DW)
