A pretty desperate comedy-adventure photographed in mucky colour that reminds you of one of those Jean-Paul Belmondo capers of the mid Sixties which took in several countries while putting hero and heroine through hell and high water. A divorced couple, Teri Garr and Tom Conti, lurch from a car accident in America through kidnap by Central American revolutionaries to crash-landing in the desert, storm at sea and capture by natives in the South American jungle. Ms Garr's makeup does gradually disappear, but not her nail varnish, which sustains nary a chip to the bitter end. Everybody in the cast mugs like mad and Jim Kouf directs his own screenplay at breakneck pace, but to no avail: it's still terrible.
