Another of the American humorist Jean Shepherd's affectionate, impressionistic and gently ironic views of American small-town life, with an early appearance by the young Matt Dillon. Shepherd, best known for his book 'In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash', was also behind the equally winning feature film A Christmas Story, seen in 1983.
