This attempted satirical comedy about scientists being corrupted in the search for `Star Wars'-type weapons misfires in all directions. After `Top Secret! ' and `Top Gun', this was distinctly bottom-drawer for star Val Kilmer, and relies on below-the-belt humour for what impact it can muster. Best of the cast is Michelle Meyrink as a curvaceous, non-stop, engineering student. Director Martha Coolidge has done much better work since, including the Oscar-nominated 'Rambling Rose'.
