The said that director Alex Cox could write his own ticket after Repo Man and Sid and Nancy. The trouble is, they let him do it. And this is the result. Three bandits bungle a killing, somehow reap a suitcase full of money and hid out in a Mexican desert town where they are fired upon by a group of British and American actors and actresses wearing false beards and corselettes. Presumably intended to be surrealistic, this never grips the interest for a moment. Appallingly self-indulgent, it's a waste of everybody's time and money. Music by The Pogues and Pray for Rain.
