'This is no time to be funny' says Joe Melia, taking over from George Cole as Flash Harry for the last of the St Trinian's films. He could, of course, be referring to the movie, which is totally without polish and looks as if it were made on the tightest of all possible budgets. Such distinguished players as Michael Hordern and Thorley Walters are made to caper and prance in the most embarrassing fashion and the girls themselves are merely obnoxious and no longer the lovable terrors of yore. Add such absurdities as the games mistress (Luan Peters) who takes her pupils swimnming and has apparently forgotten her own swimsuit, stripping gaily to the buff for no other reason than Peters is a curvy lady, and you have a new low in British comedy, even by the standards of the last few 'Carry Ons'.
