A terribly mistaken and stunningly unfunny attempt to recreate Earl Derr Biggers' famous Chinese detective stories as an all-star comedy. Under Clive Donner's thumpingly heavy direction , scene after scene embarrasses rather than amuses. Peter Ustinov does at least give the impression that he would make an acceptable Chan in a more serious venture. The rest of the starry cast exaggerates unmercifully.
