Roger Moore makes his seventh and last appearance as everyone's favourite spy in this extravagant Bondian escapade packed with 'he'll-never-get-out-of-this, surely? ' situations. Endless apocalyptic scenarios are run as Bond sets out to thwart a crazed industrialist (Christopher Walken); and the beauties are really striking (Tanya Roberts, Grace Jones, Alison Doody and Fiona Fullerton). But for all these typically glossy ingredients, Moore himself looks a tired old warhorse, resorting to doubles entendres that might have been cast-offs from a Carry On script. But the action and car-chases (here involving a fire engine) hit the mark. Duran Duran supply the theme song, which was a big hit at the time. Look out for Dolph Lundgren among the villains.
