The Monkees' answer to Hellzapoppin', described by one critic as 'a mind-blowing collage of intercuts and mixed media'. Bob Rafelson (later to direct such serious works as 'Five Easy Pieces' and 'The King of Marvin Gardens') moves the whole thing along at a rapid pace. With a plotless, but often funny, script, and general free-for-all freakout of rock music and movie satire, the film didn't find much of an audience in its time but has acquired a sizeable cult following in more recent years. In the brief moments that The Monkees are off-screen, you may spot Victor Mature, Teri Garr and Jack Nicholson (who also co-wrote it) in the supporting cast.
