There's a high percentage of fun in this crazy comedy about a wife (Shirley MacLaine) whose lover (James Booth) came to mend her sewing machine, stayed for four years and now lives in the attic. Her husband (Richard Attenborough) is a bra-manufacturer (known as Orpheus in the Undie-world) whose ambitions to invent an expanding bra come to grief in spectacular fashion. Director Joseph McGrath converts the lives of these people - played with beautifully straight faces by the trio of stars - into a kaleidoscope of colour, noise and fun, in a superb series of visual jokes. Not least of these is Freddie Jones' acutely comic detective and Bob Monkhouse puts in an appearance as a maniac psychiatrist. Only in the last 15 minutes does the fun flag.
