This effective thriller does, as its title suggests, have a bearing on the motion picture business, though it's not a matter of film studios or filmmaking but the finished product - reels of celluloid-which seems to be the common denominator in a series of fires. The central figure, played by Arthur Kennedy, is an experienced insurance detective whose speciality is fires. Warren Oates portrays his arsonist adversary.
