Previously shown in this country as The Black Buccaneer, this is an Italian-made swashbuckling spectacle with Ricardo Montalban in athletic form as the eponymous hero. Another Hollywood star, Vincent Price, is characteristically treacherous as the Caribbean official behind the slave traffic. It's a bit light on sea battles, but director Mario Costa gives it pace and moments of panache.
