Originally called Helen and Teacher (after the Joseph P Lash book on which it's based), this is a continuation of events in the life of Helen Keller, whose early days were depicted in the play and film The Miracle Worker. Strong performances from Mare Winningham, Blythe Danner and Peter Cushing and a welcome reappearance by the Canadian-born actor Alexander Knox, as the headmaster of Helen's school, who almost blights her future progress.
