James Cagney at his usual machine-gun pace, but this time in an out-and-out farce, with he and his great friend Pat O'Brien unusually cast as a couple of screwball screenwriters at large in the Hollywood of the late Thirties. Writers Bella and Sam Spewack adapted their own play and, if anything, the film version is even wilder. It's loud, fast and furious - but unfortunately not very funny.
