Oldman Joins Batman Cast
Brit actor Gary Oldman leaves the Harry Potter set and joins the star studded cast of Christopher Nolan's re-imagining of the Caped Crusader story.As filming kicks off this week on the eagerly anticipated new Batman movie, another Brit has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan's re-imagining.
Gary Oldman, fresh from playing Sirius Black in the forthcoming Harry Potter movie, has signed on to play Lt. James Gordon, a detective on the Gotham City police force that goes on to become Police Commissioner in the comic stories and the previous Batman movies.
The new imaginatively titled Batman Begins will tell the tale of a young Bruce Wayne and his progression from billionaire playboy to crime fighting vigilante.
American psycho's Christian Bale is to play the caped crusader, with Michael Caine as his Butler Alfred.
The cast list also includes Katie Holmes, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman. The movie has begun production in Iceland and will also be shot in London and Chicago.
