The model-turned-actress made her international feature debut with the Jackie Chan spoof Shanghai Knights.

A highly popular performer in Asia (her 1996 album Fantasy went platinum) it was modelling that gave her first first acting break.

In 1994, she was discovered in Taipei by a Singapore TV producer who invited her back to Singapore to act in the drama serial Mei meng cheng zhen.

Fann's natural acting talent was discovered in the show, and this led to her career transition as a television actress based in Singapore.

However, her parallel singing career led her to sell-out shows and even a duet with the British boy band 911.

In 2003, she appeared alongside Chan and American star Owen Wilson in the Hollywood sequel Shanghai Knights.

She can next been seen in the Singapore movie The Bondmaid.
