This isn't the first time Susan May Pratt has played an anorexic, and she does it well ­ but that isn't enough to save this film from feeling a bit directionless. She portrays Shelly, who falls prey to the damaging obsession that her mother Marsha (Barbara Hershey) has with dieting. Obvious messages follow. Christina Hendricks plays Frannie, Shelly's surprisingly well-adjusted sister.
