A Glimpse of Hell

Military drama based on a true story, starring Robert Sean Leonard and James Caan. After a huge explosion aboard the warship USS Iowa during a naval exercise, the authorities attempt to cover up the true causes of the accident by scapegoating two homosexual seamen.

The first half hour or so of this film lives up to its title, as a horrific explosion on a submarine leaves grisly casualties. Courtroom drama follows in this real-life tale, as the Navy's investigator (James Caan) suspects a gay suicide pact could be behind the tragedy on the USS Iowa. Robert Sean Leonard and Daniel Roebuck co-star in this solid, if not exactly compelling, drama.
