Michael Frayn's stage play is unfortunately rendered a little flat and over-complicated on the small screen in its premise of the meeting of two wartime physicists and friends, Denmark's Niels Bohr and Germany's Werner Heisenberg. Tensions arise as they discuss their work, while keeping some things hidden. Is Heisenberg making a nuclear bomb for Adolf Hitler? Made to be intellectually challenging and enjoyable, it depends on the viewer's concentration whether they are left in limbo or appreciate the ideas involved. Stephen Rea and Daniel Craig are both fine as the sparring scientists with secrets.
