Richard Jenkins and Tom Sizemore deliver first-class performances as father and son in this moving, fact-based drama about the bombing of churches in Birmingham, Alabama, in which four black girls died. Thirty years after the crime, grown-up Tom (Sizemore) reunites with his father (Jenkins), a suspected bomber. Tom befriends a black man (Ving Rhames) and comes under pressure to give evidence against his father. Lachlan Murdoch (not the Lachlan who is son to media mogul Rupert Murdoch) plays young Tom in the flashback scenes.
