This is a sprawling but silly romantic drama set in various war-torn countries. Angelina Jolie stars as Sarah, a rich, naïve American, who leaves her London home to help maverick humanitarian doctor Nick (Clive Owen) heal the sick and starving in Ethiopia. Years later, Nick needs her again so, she heads for Cambodia. In the final segment of the film, she heads for a further reunion with Nick, this time in Chechnya. With plenty of suffering by the sick and starving, but no real story to speak of except for the love these one-dimensional characters have for each other, this is pretty hard to watch.
