The Ramones were a long-lasting (1974-1996) American punk rock group who produced a wall of noise: the lyrics were basic, but their incessant repetition often caused them to stick in the mind. None of the four guys were really surnamed Ramone and there were a few changes of personnel before the band recorded their last album, appropriately called Adios Amigos. Wildly popular in South America, they remained a cult taste both in the UK and their native America - probably best remembered by film fans for their appearances in the 1979 movie Rock 'n' Roll High School. This documentary is a rather sad affair, especially as three of its barely articulate interviewees from the band have died within the last few years. The photography is fuzzy and the colour blurred, but concert footage gives an idea of their impact, and for fans it's an essential epitaph to the wild men of rock.
