A romantic comedy set in a small Massachusetts fishing village, this has a predictable story but an appealing depth behind its lead characters. They are Celia Amonte (Sofia Milos) and Charlie Beck (Harry Potter's Jason Isaacs) --- she is a widow still grieving for her long-dead husband, and he is a professional gambler who breezes into town and falls for her. Celia's meddlesome daughter, Vicky (Emmy Rossum), promises to help him melt mum's heart in return for him teaching her to gamble --- but as mum would disapprove, it's their secret. And secrets and lies, as we all know, make the path to true love rocky indeed... Slow, but elegant and extremely watchable.
