Van Helsing

The Mummy director Stephen Sommers serves up another fantasy adventure to feast your eyes on with Hugh Jackman as legendary monster hunter Van Helsing... the one name they all fear. As you might expect, the stunning visuals and action set pieces should be enough to blow you away... but who knew that the Cheeky Girls weren't the only abomination to have come out of Transylvania?

I am a huge vampire movie fanatic and I loved this film. Sommers' idea of bringing all the famous and feared monsters of the past together was great. His amazing story depicting Dracula with Frankenstein and the Werewolf was brilliant. The transitions, all thought somewhat fast, were terrific and even smooth, if you pay attention. Even including Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde made sense. The special effects were fantastic. Now thanks to Sommers, other movies of this genre have a lot to live up to.

This is chewing gum for the mind. It won't change your world, but it is fun, and looks fabulous. Hair is very important in this movie. Jackman and Beckinsale must have used about half the world's supply of hairsray and even Roxburgh's Dracula sports a fetching ponytail, though he seems to have used less hairspray than the others as he is continually pushing away some trailing hair from his face. Get the takeaway in, take the phone off the hook, turn the lights off and sit back and enjoy.

With this movie sit back and enjoy your popcorn and enjoy the movie. Bringing together the great horror characters into one story and their most famous adversary, Van Helsing. I thought this movie was worth checking out if only to see many a monster match up, Frankenstein vs Dracula's bride, wolfman vs Dracula. Hugh Jackman does fine in his role though I am still unsure about Roxburgh as Dracula. The special effects and overall feel of the movie is good and as usual the brides of Dracula are hot.

Very entertaining film with great effects, I think it was a typical Hugh Jackman performance but the light humour definitely supported the film.

Special effects are absolutely amazing, although the story line could have been a bit better but the effects made up for it! Hugh Jackman is not an actor that I am familiar with but he's not bad! Kate was as radiant as ever. I would recommend this film to anyone who likes special effects, vampires and werewolves...
