House of Flying Daggers
During the Tang Dynasty a young soldier goes undercover posing as the protector of a beautiful blind revolutionary to escort her back to her colleagues and discover their whereabouts. Following in the footsteps of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, this is a scintillating cinematic experience from master of the art Zhang Yimou.
A one to watch. I've watched many foreign films but this has to be in my top three. Great action, effects, and story-line. The ending was a surprise and a good one.

Breathtaking cinematography and a beautiful, original storyline. The martial arts were graceful. Definitely worth watching.

Personally this film was another cashing in on the recent trend for it being cool to go and watch films of this type. Not that I'm saying it is bad to go and watch Chinese films such as these but it is a bit repetitive. The film is a typical Chinese love story and for the people who have seen other films except for Hero and Crouching Tiger they will know what I mean. Chinese aren't just about kung fu.

Beautiful. What more can I say? Great plot with many twists, amazing fighting and beautiful settings and costumes. Highly recomened.
Collins Takem
Yes the battle sequences were absolutely fabulous but I don't think we should always dwell on that because HK/CN has always pioneered in that field. The story was good and easy to understand for people who aren't too versed in Chinese history or culture. I don't think the movie was meant to be a Troy and if some reviewers knew what they were talking about, they would know that Zhang Yimou doesn't do "Troy"! He does conflict but focuses on the relationships and their delicate nuances.

Visually stimulating but otherwise rather dull. Worth watching though just for the end - how long can it possibly take a person to die? Best laugh we've had in ages!

Most amazing martial arts movie to date. Wonderful storyline and great plot. The acting is great especially Zhang Ziyi. You must see this movie. Its a masterpiece.
