However, he first garnered attention as the ruthless gang leader Carl Galton in the British TV series The Fear.
Also in 1988, his feature debut proper was made in the highly acclaimed Dian Fossey biopic Gorillas in the Mist.
Next, he played Hamlet in the film version of Tom Stoppard's play Rosencrantz & Guilderstern Are Dead, and turned back to the small screen with a regular role in the British TV miniseries Adam Bede.
In 1998, Glen appeared opposite Nicole Kidman in the London stage production of The Blue Room, which moved to Broadway.
Two years later Glen starred as an abusive junkie in the black comedy Beautiful Creatures and as the villianous Manfred Powell in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
His skill for being villainny was again displayed in A Song For A Raggy Boy as the whip-wielding Brother John.
Glen also starred in the Spanish chiller Darkness and as Dr Isaacs in the sci-fi thriller Resident Evil: Apocalypse.
