You really need to either love or hate football to get full value from the fun and situations in this filmed version of the hit stage play. Although it's really a one-joke story - a businessman on an Ibizan holiday is far more concerned with the World Cup semi-final between England and West Germany than the state of his crumbling marriage - and hardly flows along under Andy Wilson's direction, the basic situation gives rise to some priceless exchanges as an almost unrecognisable Clive Owen implores film wife Caroline Quentin to spare him the details of her affair until after a penalty shoot-out. Lots of bad language and vulgarity make this unsuitable for younger children. Gary Lineker himself makes a slightly embarrassing guest appearance at the climax.
