The Siege

Three years before the cataclysmic attack on the World Trade Center, director Edward Zwick dealth with the consequences of an Islamic terror campaign in New York. When Arab terrorists blow up New York buses, a packed Broadway theatre and FBI headquarters, Denzel Washington is the government agent charged with restoring order. Bruce Willis is the megalomaniac army general carried away by the powers of martial law. It's a capable movie with impressive scenes of an evacuated Manhattan and has the courage to pose some uncomfortable questions.

Denzel Washington does his usual stalwart job as a special FBI agent who has to deal with an Arab campaign of terror on New York's streets.

Annette Bening has an unsympathetic part as an undercover CIA operative forced to forge an uneasy alliance with Denzel, while Bruce Willis is sparky as an army general who must impose military rule in a city out of control.
