Sergeant Dutch Van Der Brock (Harrison Ford) and Congresswoman Kay Spencer Chandler (Kristin Scott Thomas) are strangers who know nothing of each other but their lives are tragically intertwined.

Both Ford and Thomas are happy in their ignorance but after a plane crashes killing each of their spouses a devastating blow ensues.

As both parties discover why their partners were on the doomed plane in the first place and that they were in fact lovers. Ford is desperate to uncover the whole truth in minute detail and is determined not to go the course alone.

As the pair trace the footsteps of their betrayal they also face their grief and anger through their bid to find the truth, but of course, what they end up finding is each other.

Although depicting scenes with particularly emotive issues, it may lack to provoke such a response from its viewers during many of the difficult scenes.  However, it is portrayed well and solely through the raw passion Ford and Thompson feel and show for each other.

The scenes are simply shot and although there isn't much creativity in this department they do flow nicely together as they are reminiscent with the story line.

Performances by Ford and Thomas are - as always - very good and they have not let us down, but with the lack of emotion and excitement the film is slightly bland but easy watching.

Essentially the pace is slow moving because the couple unravel what the viewer already knows, making this a fairly predictable journey with a few surprises along the way.
