An enjoyable but lightweight drama about a young woman who develops multiple sclerosis. When her grandmother dies, wheelchair-bound Ruth (Samantha Mathis) has to be admitted to a care centre. There, she rebels against the staff, but manages to get the other patients (including Marlee Matlin, Jonathan Silverman, Natalie Cole and Peter Sarsgaard on her side. Unusually for a TV movie of this type, sentimentality is mostly avoided.
