A tough, taut and involving thriller starring a fired-up Val Kilmer as drug dealer and police informer who adopts a new identity to find his wife's killers. Junkies and dealers become his new pals, but somehow he must keep a clear head to get to the truth in this stylish, twisty movie. Vincent D'Onofrio scores a hit as a noseless, drug-dealing psycho called Pooh-Bear. A flop in America: it cost $18million and earned only $750,000. It took three hours a day to put on Kilmer's tattoo makeup.

This is one of the best, most original films I've seen, my only disappointment being that Sky haven't shown it more often. It shows one man crossing the sub-cultures of decent, wealthy citizens and scumbag, junkie criminals and finishes off with a twist to die for. WATCH IT!

I sat through the first 45 minutes of this film and couldn't take anymore. I didn't have the faintest idea what was going on. Too disjointed and no apparant storyline.
