Supposedly a `sequel' to the famous western in which Gary Cooper took an Oscar as the sheriff who has to face four desperadoes alone, this TV movie looks more, in approach, like a sequel to the Clint Eastwood `Dollars' films. It seems in retrospect to have been one long gunfight, although in between there is some splendid colour photography by Harry May, who shot the film (under Jerry Jameson's direction) on location in Tucson, Arizona. Former Bionic Man Lee Majors and star of The Fall Guy, finds it hard here to step into Coop's boots, and is outshone personality-wise by David Carradine. The twanging music is another reminder of how close to spaghetti westerns this new film comes.
