Clearly Cath decided it was a flight too far for the rest of her family - Michael Douglas and baby son Dylan, most likely left sunning themselves at their Bermuda home.
Other stars at the LA screening included My Big Fat Greek Wedding star Nia Vardalos and 80s legend Martin Short.
The movie, starring Tom Hanks as Viktor, a European immigrant fleeing a war, is mostly set in an airport.
Viktor discovers on arrival in the US that his country no longer exists - leaving him without a passport or an identity.
After a delay in the release date, rumours circulated that test audiences were not overly impressed with the movie, leading Spielberg to think up a new ending.
But with Spielberg's track record, reports of him 'losing his touch', as one fan website puts it, are most likely wide of the mark.
The movie is currently scheduled for release in the UK in September.
