This Week On Sky Box Office
Topping the pile this week on Sky Box Office is Over Her Dead Body, the ghostly rom-com with spirited performances from Jason Biggs and Eva Longoria. But that not all - check out this week's top titles - we've got something for everyone!
Newly-deceased bride-to-be Eva Longoria isn't too chuffed when erstwhile fiance Paul Rudd emerges from his grief and begins dating wacky psychic-come-caterer Lake Bell in Over Her Dead Body. John Tucker Must Die writer Jeff Lowell makes his directorial debut with a ghostly rom-com enlivened by spirited performances from Jason Biggs as Lake's "gay" best friend and Lindsay Sloane as Rudd's scheming sister. Think Ghost meets My Best Friend's Wedding.
Another newbie this week is Penelope, the winsome modern fairytale with Christina Ricci as a sweet, young aristocrat cursed with the face of a pig. Her one true love can break the spell, but first there are important lessons to be learned about self-esteem. Rising British star James McAvoy charms as the suitor-with-a-secret, while producer Reese Witherspoon, Lenny Henry and Russell Brand all put their snouts in.
Estranged siblings Laura Linney - a wannabe playwright - and her brother Philip Seymour Hoffman - a struggling academic - are forced together to confront the dementia of their father in The Savages. Writer-director Tamara Jenkins' low-key, bleakly humorous drama proves a simply effective pleasure.
