In the last weeks of World War One in France, the Germans counter attack, cutting off one American battalion in this tense TV movie that uses every war film cliche to tell its true story. Cue terrifyingly realistic battle scenes, friendly fire, a general (Michael Brandon) who regards his men as cannon fodder and officers who end up treating the men like brothers. Rick Schroder gives a solid turn as the US major in command.

An entertaining WW1 film based on a true story. I can't say how much of it is 'Hollywood-ified', but I found it to be both frightening to think what these men went through, and thought provoking. The acting is top-notch as are the sometimes gruesome fx. Gritty, realistic, and it's not often we see a good WW1 film, so go for it... you won't be disappointed.

What can I say, it's typically American and although there is truth to it i wonder about its accuracy, but hey it fills an hour and a half with blood, mindless violence and a thin glimier of hope that keeps you well entertained. so if you've nothing else to do then its worth a watch.
